Sooo, here we are after much research, formulation, testing and trialling - and now three years into selling in our country store and city markets, it has taken me this long to write a blog update about it..
To be honest, I am in love with the texture, with the way my skin feels after I use it, and the subtle aromatherapy scent - created from our blend of certified organic oils
The subtle scent has an added purpose, to enhance or calm the wearers senses whilst adding depth and clarity to their tattoos.
Recently we did some before and after snaps with Photograph., to show our customers the effect that one simple application has on the look of your healed / old tattoos.

This Valentines Day, we opened our doors for customers to bring their special someone to enjoy a night out full of designer desserts, local wine and freshly brewed coffee.
Some people brought their best friend, some their mum and others their partner.
One thing they all had in common, was their love of handmade desserts and natural skin care and local brands.
Styling and flowers were done by Bloom Studio, desserts handmade by Sarah's Sweet Creations, photography was by Photograph.

Christmas in Adelaide is full of local cheer, cruelty free products and hand crafted goodness. Read for the scoop on the best from the North Adelaide Christmas.
]]>We managed to track down some bright images by Photograph. and City of Adelaide and some of the brands who attended this gorgeous Adelaide Christmas Market.
Say hello to the gorgeous Snowflake Christmas Cow at Chandlers Hill Christmas Tree Farm
speaking of cute these macarons by The Macaron Bar were almost too cute to eat...
I say almost because the temptation became too great and I had to taste their handiwork sooner or later..
and since we are a vegan friendly cosmetics brand, you may be about to ask if we sampled any vegan macarons while we were there... yes we did!
Alex has perfected vegan macaron's, I can guarantee that! sooo amazing!
In more exciting Christmas local brand news, a little birdie has told me the The Macaron bar has their amazing delicacies as part of the menu at St. Louis House of Fine Ice Cream & Dessert
How amazing does this look...
We are so grateful to Jess from Handmade in Adelaide for her passion for our local Adelaide Brands and Businesses.
I was lucky enough to meet Jess several years ago at an event, and she has boundless passion and energy for not only her businesses but other Adelaide brands as well. Love your work!
Some of our super sellers at the Twilight Christmas Market in North Adelaide were :
Our Rose Water Spritz, packaged in a gorgeous frosted glass bottle that we hand stamp in the Adelaide Hills...
Use this refreshing spritz to cool, tone, calm and hydrate your skin. Just a few quick spritz's are enough to calm the senses and re-hydrate on hot day's or if you have been travelling or around drying air-conditioning or heating.
As a makeup artist I use this spritz to prepare the skin before applying our Organic Argan Serum to the skin as an anti-aging moisturiser and skin priming serum.
We loved seeing the crowds enjoying a gorgeous summer night out.
and at the end of a very busy night meeting many new catching up with my beautiful Tania Louise Australia customers, I enjoyed a relaxing bath with our Himalayan Magnesium Therapy Soak...

Wild Jasper's mission is to help girls find clothing that can help enhance their unique and natural beauty.
Together with Photograph. and Tania Louise Makeup artist we created an empowering, natural & cruelty free beauty fashion shoot at our South Australian country store, complete with a hedge and vintage bicycle at the front door.
We chose a gorgeous group of girls passionate about natural beauty, classy fashion for teens and dancing to represent these Australian brands.
These four girls are passionate about dance, expressing themselves and choosing cosmetics that are safe for them and the environment.
Our models love the botanic and mineral beauty products used on their skin, and were excited to wear the latest designs from Wild Jasper.
]]>So, what is veganism you ask?
extract from Vegan Society
Here at Tania Louise, we are against animal cruelty, and we see absolutely no need for any animal body parts, fur, fish scales or even bugs to be used in any of our skin care, cosmetics, hair care or makeup brushes.
We are a plant based brand, with plant oils and plant butters as the base of our products, only scented with certified organic plant and flower essential oils.
Our makeup brushes are made from synthetic/man made fibres that are of professional makeup artist quality and totally soft and luxurious.
Our eye shadow shimmers are made with minerals and mica (traditional eye shadows can still to this day contain fish scales and crushed up bugs to create a luminescent finish) I kid you not!
Tania Louise deodorant balm sticks are a luxurious waxy texture which we create by using organic plant extracts such as cacao butter, coconut oil, candelilla wax and shea butter.
Nourishing lipsticks by Tania Louise are also vegan with 100% natural and organic ingredients, and natural mineral colourants instead of animal extracts or synthetic colours.
Over the course of November, we will be introducing our plant based products one by one, as well as our favourite Australian owned and made brands that have similar ethics to us.
The founder of Tania Louise has been creating plant based beauty products since she was a young teen and is excited to continue her passion with Tania Louise label celebrating over 8 years in business!

It has been said that 'the eyes are the mirror of the soul'... so what are you framing your soul with?
Nourishing botanic mascara.... or a toxic concoction of chemicals and tar that slowly damages the top layers of your eye and eventually damages your eyesight?
]]>Tania Louise Mascara is made in Australia with Certified Organic Jojoba Oil, Certified Organic Castor Oil, and Certified Organic Carnuaba Wax with mineral pigments.
How do these ingredients help your eye lashes you ask:
let me explain :
Organic Castor oil is the magic substance to enhance your eye lash growth while nourishing the hair follicles.
As we grow older eyelashes will start to fall off or break up by themselves. This is due to the weakening of skin tissues around the eyes.
We can prevent this by using a castor oil in a special combination (like our botanic mascara) The Vitamin E content works as an antioxidant and helps repair tissue damage around your hair follicles, creating healthier follicles which enhances and encourages stronger hair (eye lash) growth.
Castor oil contains naturally high levels of Ricinoleic acid an Omega-8 fatty acid, and it makes up a majority (85-95%) of the oil’s composition. It provides incredible nourishment to your lashes and helps accelerate eye lash growth.
Hair follicles will easily absorb castor oil and thereby help the healing mascara formulation to penetrate deep into the internal structure of the tissue, which prevents unnecessary eye lashes to fall out.
Jojoba oil is one of the best eye lash enhancers because it moisturises and protects the hair follicles allowing the eye lashes to grow longer and thicker before falling.
Carnauba wax provides a gorgeous amount of volume and length from plants!
Smooth and clump free our Mascara is good for your eye lashes, assists with growth and length and is safe for your eyes!
Tips for perfect application:
Unscrew Cap and gently remove Mascara wand from tube.
Carefully remove any excess mascara from wand on the inside of tube.
Do not 'pump' wand into tube. This causes the mascara tube to fill with air and dry out.
Looking into mirror, apply mascara gently to lashes ensuring you coat the tops of the top lashes as well as the undersides of top lashes. Comb through gently to first coat each lash with mascara and then use wand to separate lashes.
Allow to dry for 30 seconds.
To create thicker lashes and build up coverage apply a second coat
For evening or photographic purposes up to 4 coats can be applied until desired affect is achieved.
To Remove:
Apply Pure Argan Oil, Pure Coconut oil or warm water to your eye lashes.
Gently remove with clean cotton make-up remover pads or a warm wash cloth.
Note: This is a 'Tar Free' mascara, and is long-wearing in most conditions but because we have designed this products from plants, warm water or a facial oil such as our 100% natural and organic Argan Serum, will dissolve this mascara as it is 100% natural.
For any mistakes when applying or wearing... smudged mascara can be easily removed with your finger or make-up brush without ruining your foundation/make-up look.

Our skin absorbs up to 60% of the products we apply to it – it’s a scary thought if those products are synthetic, processed and full of preservatives, chemicals and toxins. If you’re going to clean up your diet for the same reasons, why not make your beauty cabinet healthier too?
Vegan beauty products are produced without harm to animals (i.e. cruelty-free) and they also don’t contain any animal ingredients, animal by-products or animal-derived products. Common animal ingredients used in skincare include beeswax, lanolin (which is the grease from sheep’s wool – it’s hard to un-think that thought!), carmine (a red colour from crushed cochineal insects) and uric acid from cows.
Vegan formulas are sometimes given a hard time – are they as effective as non-vegan products? Are they more expensive? Do they have as long a shelf life?
The truth is, without animal ingredients, vegan products are actually better for your skin, especially if you’re someone with sensitive or condition-prone skin. Animal ingredients can be harsh and clog pores, so vegan products are a soothing alternative.
What’s more, the plant-derived ingredients in many vegan formulas contain more vitamins, minerals and antioxidants to repair and hydrate the skin. You feel far healthier if you eat foods in their natural state – and the same logic applies to skincare. Your skin will thrive off being fed natural, vegan ingredients.
These ingredients include vitamins A, C and E, natural oils, such as coconut, argan and rosehip, algae, soybean extracts, hemp seed extracts, Camu Camu berry and so on. These ingredients are as, if not more effective, than their synthetic counterparts, since they are closer to their natural state. (Though beware, as the terms ‘natural’ and ‘organic’ do not mean the product is vegan.)
Additionally, when products are absorbed by the skin, they go straight into the blood stream. (When you ingest something, it goes through the kidneys and liver before the blood stream – a natural filtration and detoxification process). Over time, the absorption of non-vegan ingredients can potentially cause negative side effects, and not just to your skin.
Tania Louise has been creating and producing natural, organic and vegan skincare, hair care and cosmetics since 2010. You can see her range here
Serves 2
Method:
4 tbsp ground turmeric
4 tbsp ground cinnamon, plus extra to serve
4 tbsp ground ginger
2 tsp honey
400ml coconut milk
Ingredients:
In a small bowl, combine the ground turmeric, cinnamon and ginger.
Place 2 tsp spice mix into two large cups, heatproof glasses or jars.
Add enough hot water to cover and stir to combine. Add the honey and stir to combine.
For a vegan version (and unsweetened) omit the honey. **
Heat coconut milk in jug/froth with coffee machine. Carefully pour a small amount over spices mixtures and stir to combine, then add remaining milk to top.
Sprinkle with cinnamon and serve.
Alternatively if you don't have a coffee machine/milk frother, bring milk to boil gently on stove-top stirring constantly.

*To make your own almond butter, put four cups activated almonds in a food processor and blend till soft (this may take around 20 minutes), you may need to stop and add a tiny bit of coconut oil – but try and do this late in the process as the nuts release their oils naturally the more they are processed. Salt to taste. Store bought almond butter is not raw, it has been roasted, salted heavily, and has a much stronger flavour.

Make up enough for 3 mornings at a time, and enjoy nutritious, delicious quick breakfasts or a healthier option to cake at morning tea.
As a garden designer, her studies involved plant science and her childhood was spent exploring herb, fruit and flower gardens and learning about their benefits.
Years later due to her busy lifestyle and her career in manufacturing she no longer spent time doing what she loved.
Tania Louise Company Founder & Director (above) Image Credits: Melanie Stevens - Photographer
Just after her second child turned one year old, this woman was diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer.
Many months of tests, surgeries, radioactive treatment and more tests followed.
This was the moment that sparked the need for creating change.... during many weeks of isolation in a Melbourne hospital for her cancer treatment - she spent countless hours and many days researching the cause of her illness.
The results were frightening. Many brands of skin care, hair care and cosmetics were found to contain mostly 'endocrine disrupting' chemicals and these chemicals over time were proven to be a contributing factor to the increase in Thyroid Cancer cases.
She discovered these toxic chemicals/substances/preservatives are created in a laboratory (because its cheaper to manufacture than use a natural product) Upon application to the skin, these toxins are absorbed into the bloodstream. Over time these 'chemicals' or 'toxins' build up in the body creating changes to hormones and eventually the function of the Thyroid.
The distinct moment that the Tania Louise Skincare & Botanic Beauty Company was envisioned, was after 4 days of isolation in the Alfred Centre (Melbourne) during Radioactive Therapy (Radio-iodine)
The following list was created and her MISSION was born:
She asked herself, WHY must I do this? What are the most important issues that I can address?
1. To educate families and beauty professionals in the dangers of chemical / toxin build up in the body from every day items and the devastating effects it can have the long term.
2. To create products that she would be genuinely proud to use on her children and herself.
3. To create a brand or range of products that DIRECTLY contributes to the local community through local employment and product/ingredient sourcing.
She was puzzled: Why were retail stores and consumers importing inferior products, when right here on the cleanest continent on earth we have the resources to grow the plant based ingredients, clean water and so many talented people that can create what we need?
4. Because there are some powerful botanic ingredients that do not grow in the Australian climate, any imported ingredient had to be sourced via Fair Trade agreements from Sustainable Plantations to assist in their education and provide better living conditions.
5. MOST importantly her vision was to create an easy solution for families to guarantee natural and reliable source of skincare, hair care and cosmetics.
6. Not knowing if her cancer treatment was going to work (she had to wait 12 months to find out if it was effective or not) gave her a sense of urgency. What could she do that would leave behind a positive legacy for her children in years to come? How could she make the world a better place and be a positive role model?
There is nothing like a time limit on life to put things into perspective....
She immediately drafted a code of ethics for the company she hoped to build, which includes:
Every product is CRUELTY FREE - not a single product is ever tested on animals... The ingredients used are gentle, natural and mostly food grade! This means that they are tested on consenting humans and every new product is also trialled and used for up to 12 months before being launched for sale to the public.
Every product is lovingly created with natural ingredients and are:
✔ PARABEN FREE
✔ SODIUM LAURETH SULPHATE FREE (SLS)
✔ BISMUTH OXYCHLORIDE FREE
✔ NANO-PARTICLE FREE
✔ TALC FREE
✔ PALM OIL FREE
✔ PHENOXYETHANOL FREE
✔ NO ANIMAL TESTING
Today, Tania Louise is proudly still 100% Australian Owned & Operated by Founder Tania Wilson.
Five years on Tania has made a steady recovery and continues to create new products that make living a natural and organic life easier! Now an experienced make-up artist, she loves to create new looks for women of every age using only natural & organic products from the Tania Louise Company.
Often a guest speaker/lecturer for students and educators in the Hair & Beauty industry, Tania is more passionate than ever about providing training and sharing her knowledge with students, families and beauty professionals.
The company has grown organically based on customer requests and input which ensures that the brand is genuinely committed to fulfilling the needs and wants of its returning customers.
Thank you for your support of an Australian woman, making a difference by reducing the use of one toxic chemical at a time.
